The AppSTPA is a result of Ph.D. research conducted by Andrei Carniel under the supervision of professor Celso Hirata and collaboration of professor Juliana de Melo Bezerra, at Instituto Tecnológico de Aeronáutica - ITA.

Andrei Carniel received a degree (2010) in Technology in Systems Analysis and Development from the Federal Technological University of Paraná (UTFPR), master's degree (2017) in Applied Computing at the University of the State of Santa Catarina (UDESC), Ph.D. degree in Electronic and Computer Engineering at the Instituto Tecnológico de Aeronáutica (ITA), in 2023.
He is a professor at Catholical University, campus Jaraguá do Sul. His research interests include software engineering, cyber-physical systems, communication systems, mobile systems and IoT.
Celso Massaki Hirata received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in mechanical-aeronautical engineering and operations research, respectively in 1982 and 1987, from the Instituto Tecnológico de Aeronáutica (ITA), and the Ph.D. degree in computer science from the Imperial College London, in 1995.
From 1986 to 2014, he was an Assistant Professor with the Computer Science Department, ITA. Since 2014, he has been a Full Professor with the Computer Science Department, ITA. His research interests include distributed systems, cyber-physical systems, machine learning, and big data. Dr. Hirata was a recipient of the ACM SAC Best Symposium Paper Award in 2011.
Juliana de Melo Bezerra received the bachelor's degree (2003) in Computer Engineering from Instituto Tecnológico de Aeronáutica (ITA), a master's degree (2006) and a doctorate degree (2012) in Electronic and Computer Engineering from ITA.
She is currently an Associate Professor at ITA. Her areas of interest include Aerospace Systems, Embedded Systems, Critical Systems, Safety, Distributed Systems, and Education
